During the eight years of its existence the festival in the capital of the United Arab Emirates (OAU), the city (and the emirate) Abu Dhabi has passed a long way from the purely local and even paradoxical events (what a film festival in the country, where there was some movie?) It must be stressed significant cash component of almost every prize that makes this festival is particularly attractive for our producers.
I must say that the biggest winners of the festival were Russian painting "Leviathan" by Andrei Zvyagintsev (The grand prize "Black Pearl" and 100 thousand dollars and Alexei Serebryakov prize for Best Actor with original clock in the bargain) and "Test" by Alexander Kott (Special Jury Prize and 50 thousand dollars). Amounts bring not to disclose the commercial (non) secrets, and in order to emphasize the seriousness of the organizers of the festival, as opposed to those that we know parades that promise big money sometimes, but not always pay. It is interesting to note that the prize for Best Actress was Maria Bonnevie (for her role in Susanne Bier "Second Chance"), who plays the heroine in the same Zvyagintsev in "exile".
