This week s wine is a delicious white, the 2011 Bourgogne Blanc Les Femelottes from the Domaine Chavy-Chouet vineyard in Meursault, Burgundy. Named after the vineyard in which it was produced, Les Femelottes is a white Burgundy, 100 percent Chardonnay and their entry level wine. On the nose are ripe green apples and fresh green bananas with a subtle tuulelaevad hint of vanilla. It s sweet, but crisp and fresh as opposed to cloying. In the mouth the wine is wonderfully balanced, both rich and refreshing with a minerality that rounds the wine off wonderfully.
