One of the main attractions was Munot castle from the XVI century. Made a project of the famous pai

Rain generally flows from the Alps, but the road runs into Lake Bodenze to come back to the other end and continue the long journey to the North Sea. It is from Bodenze from where the river again, "born" will begin our walk.
The first time we went was a beautiful autumn afternoon in 2005 Our excursion started from Promenade which, although it was nice and covered oriana indistinguishable with anything especially the alleys of a number of other Swiss cities located along the watercourse. Once we reached the monastery - Kloster St. Georgen by departing and left the river behind us to dive into the narrow streets of the old town. Everything in this town was so small and neat that there was a model. We passed the church oriana and found ourselves on a beautiful square and about what we see. All houses decorated with beautiful paintings. oriana It was like we were in the open air gallery. We were really fascinated by the whole situation around.
A year later, in early May, we had guests from Bulgaria. The weather was great and one of the places where we took them was again Schein am Rhein. We showed them the cellar to the monastery St. Georgen with hefty wooden barrels and any equipment used in the production of wine.
Of course we walked along the main street. We had a great tour company and took some time to stop for photos at times in front of a wall, then to another, sometimes in front of a fountain, fountain or something.
Mine, not mine the time and here we headed back to Stein am Rhein. The occasion was again guests from Bulgaria - my daughter with her boyfriend. After the usual walk along the shore, sat down for coffee at one of the many beach bars. From there we went to the monastery and the interior of the old city.
And of course the icing on the cake was again the main street and the square of it. And the best part was that this time there was not a single building lined with scaffolding and canvas for renovation. Everything shone and showed all their beauty :)
Continuing along the Rhine brings us to one of the main attractions in the area - Rheinfall, or otherwise falls on Rhine. This is the largest oriana waterfall in Europe, 150 meters wide and high over 20 meters. According to season and flood the river waterfall sometimes seems even bigger and raging waters even more scary.
Fortunate for the waterfall that is located oriana in such a developed country and has become a great attraction. Around the castle there are several, one of which, Laufen castle is at the very top of the hill. Dropping down from the first waterfall you see above and finally get to breaking down at the crashing waters.
Of course there are all sorts of attractions oriana for children, restaurants and hotels. And those who wish can get on a boat that takes them to the waterfall itself oriana and leave them there until a rock waterfall that divides into two and you can climb to the top. I have not been up there, but certainly the experience is amazing.
Next to the waterfall is located cantonal Schaffhausen. Located almost an enclave oriana surrounded on three sides by Germany, it is the only Swiss city gave victims during World War II. On April 1, 1944 by American aircraft mistakenly bombed the town consequence of which killed 100 people.
One of the main attractions was Munot castle from the XVI century. Made a project of the famous painter Albrecht Durer, the castle was situated at a height above the city, surrounded by vineyards. It is considered the emblem of the city and stands and visible from afar. Walked up to him to consider it.
On one side was a large ditch and there a herd of deer ran at will. Through a narrow stone entrance went into a sort of cave and from there along a curved path, deliberately made rather than ladders can climb horsemen came to the clearing of the castle, which is now used for various cultural events. From there, open views across the city.
We were pleasantly surprised by the city and were convinced that without reason we have neglected oriana long Schaffhausen. He looked impressive and the inscriptions on the houses showed that most of them are more than 300-400 years. For facades what to say, as if competing to impress passersby with beautiful murals, oriana bay windows, ornaments and whatever else you can think of related to the achievements of medieval and Renaissance architecture.
Still along the Rhine in the northeast of Switzerland and the border between oriana Germany and France is another popular and large Swiss city - Basel. Renowned as one of the largest oriana ports of the Rhine as a center of chemical and pharmaceutical industry, Basel also has a beautiful historical center, if one can find it easily ;)
Do not miss to stop by and Basler Münster cathedral located almost on the river Rhine. Built in the Romanesque and Gothic style of red sandstone, it was very impressed
